Work complete at The Francis Crick Institute

francis crick instituteSealtite sealants Limited have completed works on The Francis Crick Institute, we have been working on this project for the last two years working direct for the main contractor Laing O’rourke. Sealtite sealants worked with the project managers and site managers to ensure that all mastic sealant works were completed on time and on budget using our knowledge to ensure all the correct sealants were used in each area. The Francis Crick Institute is a biomedical research centre in London city. The institute is will have 1,500 staff, including 1,250 scientists, and an annual budget of over £100 million, making it the biggest single biomedical laboratory in Europe.

The Institute is located in a new state-of-the-art 79,000 square metre building built next to St Pancreas International railway station in Central London. Construction began in 2011, with researchers starting work in the new building in September 2016. Construction and fit-out of the building is budgeted at £660 million.

80 bed medium secure unit complete for Kier construction

Kier has built a new mental health unit within the campus of St bernards hospital in Ealing. The new 80 bed medium secure unit will provide fit for purpose accomodation in which to provide mental health treatment. Sealtite sealants was awarded the contract to install Arbo 1025 secure sealant, Everbuild stayseal and Everbuild 109 anti pick sealants throughout the building both internally and externally. Kiers had a very tight programme to work to and make sure that the building was completed on time. Sealtite sealants made sure enough operatives were always on site 7 days a week, days and evenings to get the areas completed as required.

Passive fire protection

Passive fire protection work carried out by our fully trained certified operatives at a new Scania depot in Maidstone Kent. Fire batts were installed around all service penetrations throughout the building giving a passive fire protection seal. Intumescent coatings were also applied to all exposed steel beams in warehouse areas.

Work to 380 new build plots complete

Works have now completed to a new build development for Wates construction at Erith park, Erith Kent. The development was on 4no blocks of flats each with 50 1 and 2 bedroom apartments and 180 3 and 4 bedroom houses. Sealtite sealants met all dead lines required for airtests, CML’s and for handovers with no snags. Our operatives worked evenings and weekends where needed to make sure that these deadlines were met. Works included sealing external window and door frames, horizontal and vertical expansion joints, internal windows, kitchens and bathrooms and all communial areas.
